

She also did key animation for many series, including El Hazard. She is mostly known for her work on adaptations of mangaka superstar Rumiko Takahashi, namely as animation director for Urusei Yatsura, Ranma 1/2 (where she also designed the characters) and Maison Ikkoku. The character designs for the adaptation were drawn by Atsuko Nakajima. The mangaka behind Your’re Under Arrest is Kousuke Fujishima, who also created the manga behind the next OVA we will be watching, Oh! My Goddess.

You’re Under Arrest is a manga adaptation, which was a common source for anime even back in the 1980s and 1990s (although some OVAs are notable anime originals, e.g. Talk about having a presence across different media… I bet his voice is more well-known than 99.99% of anime VAs due to this: Not only did he voice Ryu in Street Fighter 2, but he is also the Japanese dub actor for both Mark Hamill and Steve Carell. However, he also worked for video games and live action dubbing. He has appeared in a long list of anime, but, despite having various roles in classic franchises such as Gundam, One Piece, Sailor Moon, and Dragon Ball, I don’t think you can call him a superstar voice actor in anime. Unlucky lovebird Ken is voiced by Bin Shimada.
